I'm torn between "yay, backstory" and "ack, this doesn't look pleasant", but either way it's hard to believe this style comes faster than the current style, there seems to be so much more in it!

Also, on the style, it depends. This pic took longer because I started thinking about it, stressing over it. If I just let go and just do it and zen out, I can do this in like an hour and a half. This one took like.. four or five hours.. Technically it isn't faster than it is just.. easier. Unfortunately it also has an unpredictable factor about it, so it's chances of being a comic method is quite low.
