Introducing Professor M. Pathy, a benevolent inventor who does anyway she can to help others while wanting the world to be a better place. She lives on the Wumpa Islands where her little laboratory is near the bandicoots hut with Crash and Coco along with Shamira Brooke as their ally and even another mother figure to them after the events of Crash bandicoot 2: Cortex strikes back.

She was very inspired to invent and help others ever since she was a little girl because of her late father, who was an inventor. He would come up with many solutions and create inventions, and wanted to help people. Little Maisie would dream of becoming an inventor just like him, but her father would sadly pass away due to a very serious illness when she was only 5 years old. Her mother was cold and aloof, who wouldn't pay attention to her inventions or her ideas. Maisie would get bullied for her inventions that would fail mostly and couldn't make any friends because of it. The only person who truly understood her and supported her was her older brother, Maxwell. He sees great potential in her and pushes her to keep going. Despite so much doubt and failure, Maisie did not give up and would continue her studies of science while continuing to invent. After years of studying, She graduated college and became a professor at a university.

Maisie now goes by the title of " Professor M. Pathy " and would spend many years at the university college, for she loved teaching her students. She still continued to explore the world of science and create inventions she believed would be very helpful in the future or possibly change the world. However, most of the time, her inventions go wrong and end in failure. She still kept her chin up and always had a positive attitude, no matter how many times she failed or how things seemed so bleak. She's a bit eccentric and comes across as being pretty naive or silly to others, so she is often misunderstood. No matter how much ridicule she gets, M. Pathy still attains this childlike wonder and the desire to create, so she continues to pursue her dreams of making the world a better place.

One day, she would get a message from someone who needed her help. It was none other than Dr. Neo Cortex, who came to her via hologram recording. He needed her to help him with saving the world from an incoming threat, She couldn't turn away his offer and immediately accepted to help Cortex. The true reason why he needs her is because he needed more help with building the Cortex Vortex, and he knew how useful her inventions were ever since he knew her from the science community. He was successful in tricking the unsuspecting professor into helping build the Cortex Vortex and building some inventions for him that were later used as weopons, she was led to believe that Cortex was her friend, the only friend she ever had, and desperately wanted to please him and help him in any way she could. Cortex views M. Pathy as nothing more but an overly joyful imbecile that goofs up way too many times, and how ridiculously naive she was for him to easily manipulate her. Cortex does respect her inventing skills and her experience with science in general but nowhere as brilliant as he is.

Later on, however, the professor realizes Cortex's true intentions from overhearing Coco hacking into the signal of him using the Cortex Vortex to brain wash the entire earth, turning everyone into mindless slaves. M. Pathy was in denial at first but soon would discover his evil plans in his computer out of curiosity and tried to persuade Dr. Cortex of not using the Cortex Vortex, but he wouldn't listen to her pleads and imprisoned her so he could brainwash her later. In her cell, she was with Shamira Brooke, who was captured by Cortex as well so that she wouldn't get in the way of his plans. Shamira knew she worked with him and would berate her for it, M. Pathy quickly explained that she was tricked into building the Cortex Vortex, believing what she was doing was good and would make a very tearful apology to Shamira who was hesitant but was convinced from seeing how the professor was very remorseful.

Coco eventually finds out that Shamira and Professor M. Pathy are being held captive in the space station and helped break them out by hacking the security systems to release them from their cell so they can reach an escape pod to leave the Cortex Vortex and back to earth on the Wumpa Islands. Professor M. Pathy would meet Crash and Coco to profusely apologize for helping Cortex, but she was quickly forgiven by the Bandicoots. Touched by their forgiveness and felt very grateful, She decided to stay on the island to help them and would continue her inventions where she would repair or give them new gadgets.

M. Pathy absolutely loved to invent just about anything that could be of use. She often tinkered with her inventions and worked very hard on them so they could be useful to anyone. Her most favorite invention that she uses all the time is her robotic hands that come out of her mechanical backpack like device that she wears, It helps her grab anything with them or multi-task. The professor can even climb with the mechanical arms and can defend herself with them by grabbing the attacker or slapping them when she spins, similar to how Crash spins. The Professor can easily get lost in her own work and be a bit obsessive over her inventions that she wouldn't come out of her lab till she was done, She would even forget to eat which Shamira helps remind her to take breaks even if she had to forcefully drag her out of the lab.

Professor M. Pathy proved to be a very helpful ally to the Bandicoots and that she is a sweet second mother figure to them, She comes to care very deeply for them and that she views them as her own children. She tends to smother them a little and be overly affectionate, but she means well and does tone down her affections and respect their boundaries. The professor saw so much potential in Coco and was thoroughly impressed by her intelligence that She would have her as a lab assistant with to work on inventions with her sometimes and loved to teach Coco about science. With Crash, she finds him a very funny and sweet person to be around. The professor does teach Crash a few things, but it's a pretty slow process for Crash isn't the brightest. Despite this, She remains very patient with him and persists in her lessons with him.

She has formed a great friendship with Shamira Brooke, for they have a lot of common and goals that they would work together very well in the events of Crash bandicoot Warped where they help gather crystals too. Though they have their arguments and disagree on certain things, She doesn't appreciate Shamira's short temper and how stubborn she can be. The professor finds her to be quite strong and smart, overtime she would form a crush on her, which leads her to be very forgetful or very flustered. She didn't know how to confess her feelings to her and unsure if Shamira felt the same way, Finally she has gotten the courage to confess to Shamira, where she actually did have feelings for her as well. So they have been going on dates and are officially a couple, and they both do their very best to raise and protect the bandicoots with Aku Aku co-parenting with them.
