johnny and jamie! these two are unlikely childhood best friends. they meet in elementary school, when jamie is still teeeeeeeny teeny tiny and johnny (being a precocial animal) is already like 5 feet tall. together they discover that jamie really likes being swung around like a discus. he may look distressed in this drawing but he's experiencing the same sort of fun feeling you get while riding a rollercoaster. their friendship grows deeper as they go through basically all their schooling together (other than college cus johnny doesn't end up going) but the combo of "johnny likes showing off her strength" and "jamie likes being thrown around" stays at the core of it all
