It's hard not to think of him whenever I see the air freshener brand

Well, that is where his name came from. (He was always "Mr. Airwick," I didn't have to think about giving him a name, he just already was.)

Not sure how an Air-Wick product works these days (I like my apartment stinky (that's my skunk self talking)) but way back when it was a bottle filled with liquid air freshener and a fabric wick attached to a metal rod; when you pulled the wick out of the jar the liquid would evaporate off it and smellnice-isize the room - https://www.paulrand.design/work/Ai.....html#images-52

They may have actually made a novelty version way back when with a bottle shaped like a skunk and the wick emerging from its tail, or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. (If anyone comes across one being sold, let me know - money is no object!)

In the wonderful movie, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T the imprisoned Bart and Mr. Zabadowski create a sound absorbing device from a bottle of "AirFix." I don't really use them tbh. I think they have the liquid in a small bottle type you plug into a dispenser. Or, one that can sit on a shelf, usually for the bathroom.

I think there's also the type for cars.

There's also plenty of real skunks around here that will sometimes make their presence known. I've heard ferrets tend to like it when they do that though I've never had a ferret so I'm not sure.
