Why is a stylus called a stylus?
Stylus is a Latin word designating an ancient writing and pottery utensil. It can be literally translated as an “instrument for writing.” In its 21st-century form, it refers to a digital input tool designed for touchscreen use. Sumerian Cuneiform was stamped into clay tablets using a corner of a square, chopstick-like one, a certain complaint tablet recording Nanni's anger with Ea-Nasir is currently the only one displayed to the public. Other forms of Cuneiform script exist.
