As he descended the moss covered steps into the cold, dark temple, Kasper couldn't help but appreciate the irony of his situation. A high tech Miraidon like him raiding an old, forgotten temple looking for a new source of energy. He would laugh, if it wasn’t so serious. His body could take a variety of energy sources, but the most effective by far was Terastal energy, contained in Tera crystals. A single chunk of Tera crystal could power him for years, even over a decade if he rationed well. It wasn't just that the crystals were incredibly dense with power, although that certainly did help, but it was also what Kasper’s body was designed and built to take. Yet, for all the benefits of Tera crystals, they did have one major flaw: they were rare. incredibly rare. The Miraidon knew that the crystal he was currently using would only last a day or two longer, if he was lucky. And the search for a replacement crystal had led him here. Tera crystals emitted a unique signal, one that Kaspar could track. And, by following that signal, he found the temple. He wasn't surprised that the crystal was in a temple. Whatever civilisation found it would have considered it a gift from their gods, a magical object that could give life to their creations. And hopefully, it would soon give life to Kasper.
Looking around the room, the Miraidon saw that there was only one way forward. A wide hallway, lined with columns. An alter at the end, with steps leading downwards on either side of the alter. He could sense that the crystal was close, just below him, so he pressed onwards. Passing the alter and descending further downwards. When he reached the bottom of the staircase, Kasper blinked, his sensors adjusting to the lack of light. In front of him was another hallway, just as wide as the one leading to the alter, but way longer. And at the same time, the lack of columns in this hallway made it look wider. And at the end of the hallway, a feint glow could be seen. A telltale sign of a Tera crystal.
Kasper considered his options. The civilisation that built this temple wouldn't have left the crystal unguarded. The hallway was bound to be trapped. He could fly, avoiding any possible triggers, but flying took up a massive amount of energy. If he flew, there was no guarantee that he would make it to the crystal before he ran out of power. Likewise, he couldn't make a new path to it. That left him with two options: either give up and find an alternative energy source like gasoline, or take a chance and walk to the crystal. Gasoline, while nowhere near as powerful as Tera crystals, was a good enough alternative. Yet it was also expensive as hell, and he would require a litre a day, maybe more if he wanted to utilise the full capabilities of his body. On the other hand, the crystal was right in front of him, and Kasper doubted that the designers of the temple would have planned for someone like himself. He was a machine, not limited by a delicate organic body. With his mind made up, he pressed onward.
The sound of his footsteps echoed throughout the hallway. The stones below his feet were uneven, though whether by design or not he was unsure of. His mind was racing, his anxiety rising. With every step, he readied himself for a trap to be activated. But nothing happened. It seemed that what precautions there were had been destroyed, their mechanisms ravaged by time. His steps quickened, until he stood before his prize. A glowing chunk of Tera crystal, about the same size as his fist. carefully, Kasper willed his chest cavity to open, revealing his current source of power. He steadied himself, before reaching in and pulling the previous crystal out, dropping it to the floor. Then, he grabbed the new crystal from it's alter and placed it inside himself, resealing his chest. immediately, he felt a rush of energy surge through his body, the lighting at his ears and tail flaring up, becoming brighter and wilder. He had done it. Smiling to himself, Kasper turned around, confidently walking back through the hallway. Yet, his confidence was short lived. About halfway down the passage, he felt his foot go down further than he was expecting. He stumbled, recovered just in time to hear a soft fwip as a swift barrage of darts flew out of the walls. Most bounced harmlessly off his metal body, but a few managed to slip in-between his plating, puncturing his cooling system. Kasper cursed under his breath. He knew his body would naturally repair the holes, but whatever toxin the darts had been carrying would be effecting him. His cooling system was akin to a human’s blood vessels, meaning that whatever those darts were coated in was actively spreading throughout his body. Great. Now he had to deal with an ancient poison until he could get back home and flush his system. Well, it shouldn't affect him too much. The most it would do is hallucinations. Not to much of a—
His stomach growled. The noise wasn't loud, but it was enough to shock Kasper into silence. His body had never made a noice like that before. Looking down, he watched his horror as his stomach began to expand rapidly, as if he had swallowed a fuel pump and was draining it dry. He could stand there in stunned silence as his body inflated, his limbs becoming heavier. He knew he should do something, but the feeling of his body getting bigger rooted him to the ground. This shouldn't even be possible, yet it was happening right before his eyes. He brought a hand up to his face, watching with a mix of fear and fascination as his claws became chubby. He wasn't sure why, but watching himself become bigger, heavier… it was satisfying, in a weird way. eventually, the expanding stopped, and Kasper looked down at his newly fattened body. It seemed there was no part of him that had escaped the darts influence. His belly was huge, his limbs were think and unwieldy, even his face was sporting some chubby cheeks and a double chin. And, for some strange reason, he liked it. He never had a problem with how he looked before, but the sensations of his body jiggling with his every movement was very pleasing to the Miraidon. Still, this was no place to admire his new form. He wanted to get out of the temple, back to the privacy of his home before he started to explore himself. So with that promise to himself, he set off again… and immediately stepped on another pressure plate. another barrage of darts flew towards him, and if he couldn't dodge them all the first time, there was no chance he could do it now. His flabby body rippled as each dart made contact, either bouncing off his expansive belly or butt, or finding their way into his cooling system. immediately, Kasper could feel the toxin working it's magic, his body expanding again. With every second that passed, he looked less like a Miraidon and more like a living ball of metal, a machine that had somehow become obese. And he loved it. He relished in the feeling of his body expanding, of the floor groaning beneath his body. His tail, thicker then his head, thumped happily against the floor. His legs could barely support his growing mass, it was only a matter of time before…
Kasper fell, landing on his now massive belly. The impact set his entire body wobbling like there was no tomorrow. He moaned happily, accepting the situation. He was stuck, unable to move his fat body anymore, forever stuck in darkness. At least, for now. Using his tail, he probed the floor of the hallway, poking and prodding at the ground until he heard the familiar click of a pressure plate. A third barrage of darts flew at him, and Kasper welcomed them with open arms. His body grew, pressing against the walls of the passageway. Yet, the more he grew, the more pressure plates his body activated, which served to further fuel his growth. It was an endless cycle of growth and ecstasy. He could feel his body pressing against the walls and the ceiling, the old building groaning in protest as it struggled to contain the Miraidon’s ever growing body. Something had to give, and it was only a matter of time until it did.
With a thunderous boom, Kasper burst out of the temple. His body now a blob of metal. He could barely move his limbs, only able to manage a little wiggle of his claws. His head was locked in place by rolls upon rolls of fat, and yet he wouldn't have it any other way. This was his purpose in life, and no matter what anyone said, he was happy with it. Thinking back to the start of today, the Miraidon blob chuckled to himself. He definitely wasn't expecting to be turned into a temple sized blob, but he sure wasn't complaining!

New Power, New Purpose
