Well, was at the mall the other day with some friends and doodled this up. Not one to do much fanart, but thought this be a fun lil pic to do. ^_^ Pretty happy with it too.

Well, considering the facts in FFVIII, I would have to agree. For example, his last name was Leonhart. He had a lion "relief" on the hilt of his gunblade. His most powerful weapon was called the Lionheart. One of the pieces in the score was entitled "Maybe I'm a Lion."
But still, I do like wolves. And I think that this is actually a very good picture. I definitely think he looks better as a wolf than he would as a lion. But that's just me.

nice work on the outfit man . . . . tottally owesome . . . its ashame you couldnt of picked a much better FF than that one . . . i wasnt fond of VIII even after trying to replay it at a friends request i still dont . . . am not fond of it. OH YEAH . . . i love that poofy tail too :D
Great rendition, Gideon! Ignore the cries that he should have been a lion... Squall was the archetypal "lone wolf". I like your choice.
As usual, absolutely lovely work. I have to ask, did you spend a lot of time going over source art, or are you just a fan of the game? He looks really close to what I remember. Barring the obviously differences, anyway. Love the chocolate fur, you don't see wolves that color too often.
