I am having one of those days. For about a week now.
Crested gecko hatchling, a few days old, being very fierce. While I love these guys and encourage folks to look into learning about them if you have any interest in reptile pets, I also encourage you to never forget that it's a reptile - they're not exactly snuggly.
More info on 'em at my site: http://jbscresties.com
WTF why doesn't Firefox recognize hatchling as a word

I find a lot of people get into trouble when they keep hearing people say "my x reptile loves to be held" and then they go out and buy a gecko/snake/turtle and find it wants to get away and/or bite, forgetting they are reptiles. It is more accurate to say that some tolerate it better than others. Leopard geckos are one of the calmest reptiles, and they feel soothed on the warmth of your body when you hold them, so they have two things going for them... but I've also met fiesty leos that want to bite as well.
Well, if you consider that my leopard gecko would crawl around on my shoulder and nap there, gladly was picked up, and enjoyed crawling into the front pocket of a coat I used to have, then moving around so his head was poking out and his front feet were gripping to the top of the pocket. All in all, he never once tried to bite me, or even exhibit any kind of aggressive behavior. Had him all throughout my childhood, but he finally died last summer.
Do Cresties learn to tolerate and maybe perhaps enjoy being handled? I work in a pet store where we recieved a young cresty. I handled him every day for quite a while and hes generally good being handled but he still will scurry up your arm or hand and attempt to jump away. Is there ever a time where they wont make these attempts?
Heh. Can't imagine why anyone ever thought these guys were cuddly. >.>

The T9 on my old Nextel phone didn't recognize "bagel". ^^
I had problems like that with Firefox before it uninstalled itself from my computer. With Chrome, that problem exists but is less common.
