Reylials are one of the youngest species of the world of Ceal. Born near the Iserial Tide of AN 1905, they are located in the future of all existing Chronicles. Nonetheless, their eventual birth was foreshadowed by Trayesse during the Crystal Seal Chronicle. Upon linking with Bokay in his Flirial-like frame, Trayesse and Bokay took on a Reylian-like appearance, and Trayesse remarked that the "idea" of Relians was apparently already present somewhere within the very fabric of Ilyfra, and that it would only be a matter of time before Reylials came into being.

Reylials resemble Furred Dracoforms with distinct Flirial features. They are large, furry mammals with rabbit-like faces and ears, omnivore dentition, long necks, feathered wings, four digitigrade paws, and fluffy tails. Their coats typically feature a pattern made of three distinct (and usually bright) colors.

Reylials are often described as the big siblings of Flirials. They share the same tele-empathic abilities and are equally friendly and good-natured. Much more importantly, however, is the fact that Reylials and Flirials are also conencted with one another, and share an intimate symbiotic relationship. Every Reylial serves as an organic hub of sorts for roughly a dozen Flirials, coordinating them as well as protecting them from larger predators. Being capable of flight, Reylials can also provide transportation for their pack. However, since one Reylial can only transport about half a dozen Flirials at a time, such transportation usually covers only short distances, such as across a big river. Even so, Reylials have also been documented carrying their Flirials across oceans on multiple trips, though such occurrences are rare.

Typically, a pack of one Reylial and about a dozen Flirials is a complete unit and does not grow beyond that. Two or more Reylials and their packs occasionally meet and mingle, also exchanging Flirials in the process, but they will each go their own ways sooner or later. Reylial young are at first raised by their mother, and her Flirials, but once they are weaned may also join other packs. Once a Reylial is between 10 and 20 years old, it will form its own pack. This usually happens after a convening of several Reylials, with the young Reylial taking young Flirials from several different packs with it.

Just like Flirials, Reylials get along well with Cemarelij. In fact, they can actively communicate with Cemarelij using their tee-empathy even if they are not familiar with the Cemareli they are communicating with. Unlike Flirials, however, they are more independent-minded, and as such politely but determinedly refuse being domesticated. In fact, the opposite is true: Occasionally, Cemarelij join a Flirial/Reylial pack, allowing themselves to be absorbed into their tele-empathic community.
