More lord of the rings theme pieces, got this a few weeks ago was just super lazy to get it uploaded. Text down here because i tend to have a lot of it and its too much for the piece.
Used Chatgpt since it can write a pretty cool mini story out of this stuff, figured that be a bit more fun to read.
Amber and Rose were sitting in a dimly lit chamber, the air heavy with the scent of old parchment. Shelves lined with ancient scrolls and manuscripts surrounded them as Amber poured over one particularly worn text.
Rose, glancing at some old books, remarked, "You know, for the white city of Gondor—Minas Tirith—it’s not as heavily guarded as I would expect."
Amber barely looked up from the scroll she was reading. "How are they doing outside?"
Rose gave a casual shrug, "Other than the occasional stare or whisper, our guards are fine. Just bored, is all."
"Good to know," Amber muttered, her brow furrowing as she scanned the text.
"So," Rose leaned in, curiosity flickering in her eyes, "what have you found?"
Amber traced a clawed finger along the ancient writing. "It says here, 'The year 3434 of the Second Age… Isildur, High King, finding the Ring of Power.'"
Rose blinked, her head tilting slightly in recognition. "Wait—Isildur? You mean way, way, WAY back when the last alliance fought Sauron?"
Amber nodded. "I believe so."
Rose’s expression grew thoughtful. "If I remember correctly from our history lessons, our ancient ancestors fought alongside the men and elves in that war."
"Yes, you're right," Amber said, with a hint of pride. "My great-great… okay, tons of greats... grandfather fought there. They were near victory, but once Sauron arrived, he—my ancestor—was slain. Beheaded, to be specific."
Rose's jaw tightened. "Not easy to kill a Dragon King or Queen. I can understand why hope failed so quickly after that."
Amber sighed, "Yes, until Isildur—just a man—took up his father’s sword and ended Sauron."
Amber’s eyes flickered as she read on, her voice lowering. "This is interesting... 'It is precious to me, though I buy it with great pain. The markings upon the band begin to fade… a secret now that only fire can tell.'"
Rose’s eyes widened. "What? Like dragon fire?"
Amber’s face grew serious. "I’m not sure... but I think we need to get back to the Shire. Immediately!"

Loving it. Some questions that arise from this blended alternate universe do arise.
Are dragons of the Rose and Amber variety a separate species from the Smaugs and... erm... of all the times for my LotRs trivia to fade... the other evil dragons? Or is this a simple case of cultural divides, in the same way you can't call a Gondorian a Rohiran, even though both are of the race of man?
And... are you keeping this story-thread serious, or are you planning some of your trademark panty-pulling at any point? Got to ask.

Going to keep it more serious, so probably no panty pulls, thats more for my casual theme art, you know everyday stuff, been a while though.
Easiest way to think of it is just don't go too deep into the lore, im a lord of the rings fan but I have never read the books and never got SUPER deep into all the lore, just everything comes based off all the movies.
Its all surface stuff, amber is gandalf and is the queen of all dragons. Im lobbing all dragons into one under her or the kingdom, of course i'm screwing up lore, i do what i want XD
For example you mentioned smaug, simply i thought of him as a reckless general that threw his soldiers lives away to achieve victory, he was banished by amber and rose. Making these two in the hobbit scenarios too. Just don't think too hard, just go surface level and thats how i enjoy it.

One of my big issues is that I over-think everything. A friend ran a DnD campaign once, and on being told "all of civilisation since the "cataclysm" now roams the plains in caravans" I was instantly trying to suss out how that would be able to sustain itself, what with the lack of farming and such, or even WHY they don't want to settle in a single location. All he wanted was to run a campaign where we were a roaming-caravan culture, and there's me not getting the memo and picking holes in his logic.
So, yeah, sometimes I need the 'Shut up and enjoy the dang thing' approach to jolt me into actually turning my brain off. :-P Don't be afraid to use those words if I ever seem to be getting hung up on unnecessary details, it can sometimes be the only way to jolt me out of it. XD
Anyway, love the picture, love the narrative you've got for it, and hope to see more. ^^

Ya because over thinking just ruins the fun! I mean take amber and petal or any of my ferals that wear panties, I personally don't like tail straps, logic and gravity says they fall off. Well thats not fun soooo, no logic, no gravity, they fit snug and don't fall off.
Or my lizardmen theme art 100% defies the logic in the original lore of the game but I want my own version sooooo, i like with the simple I DO WHAT I WANT!

Perfectly understandable. What is "lore" but a loose set of guidelines? Cherry pick away, and do what you want, I fully support that approach. Without that approach, I'd not get to enjoy your cute lizardmen, your adorable dragon family, and more besides.
