Under the Havosh Republic, the Garin enjoyed a stable golden age under the tutelage of the Kulan. Before first contact, they were in age where many nations were aligned under four major empires, known as the Gilded Corners, border conflicts were very frequent and the tensions were about shatter until the Kulan managed to barely uphold them. With the Kulan knowing very well the consequences of leaving these factions to their own devices, they managed to convince them that cooperation was a better option, creating a Forum that at least can settle matters civilly, though political bloodsports have taken hold shortly thereafter. Being a species that honors duty, the Kulan quickly gained a loyal ally, and a very efficient workforce.

As part of one of the many gladiator guilds, Ballio Calvius has entertained throughout the Uzea Alliance. Some may prefer scars, but Ballio often gets procedures done, as some crowds prefer the niche of a spotless fighter. While retired, an often common trend among them ending careers early before they sustain permanent injury, the garin does get paid very well as a tutor, though he has started to get into a similar sport: Professional Boxing.
