i have noticed that when somebody wants to buy a drawing, they do it. When they ask IF i sell drawings, they never buy one, and it is never people I hear from ordinarily, who are actually looking at the art I am posting, because they aren't actually following it. If they were they would have also already have seen the hundreds of links I place leading to my commission information. They don't want what I am offering, and I am unclear why they ask.
If you are seeing this picture, then it isn't about you! This has been going on for years. My frustration is with people who pretend to care.

Well I did actually buy a commission from you nine years ago.
And I very much love your unusual art style. But sadly, it's not very compatible with my twisted obsessions.

I have in the past poked artists about being open just to check if a) I get a response from them and it's not a message lost in the DM void, and b) to give myself some time because I want to commit to getting art from them but don't 100% know what I want. Both not great habits I've largely dropped away from.
I have no issue with sincere curiosity. But the people doing the poking in my case, at least across the past few years, have always asked if I offer commissions at all, or "what does [one] cost," not if I am open, and they never buy anything, or follow up in any other way, so I started to find it suspicious. I also for a while had someone who would buy commissions but would only agree to do it at old rates, deliberately ignoring the ones I would have recently posted that prompted the latest inquiry. You have never tried to jerk me around like that.
I absolutly love your art and your sense of humor and trust me if I could afford one I'd commission you in a heartbeat. I even have something in mind for maybe a later date...it revolves around the pinecone...! :D
Seriously your work is worth it at three times the price and I really feel sorry for you having to deal with people who just waste your time. Hope it gets less stressful going forward. :))
