Got a bit more practice with sketching efficiently. Still got a long way to go (in case I didn't mention, each of these are 200x200px, and I'm using the smallest size pen I can that still lets me hit black without crushing my tablet screen.

I definitely need more work on environments

So here's the 4 thumbnails I did today

* Sun: Stormy crossing the desert to approach an old Magic-user temple. Design is inspired by the marketing artwork of the game Journey. Took 10 minutes
* Nomadic: Nanook, a lone shaman living isolated in a mana-rich mountain range guiding Stormy through the harsh environment and teaching her "the old ways". Took ~30 minutes. Debating not using Stormy.
* Snacks: Aurora stops for a snack break on her quest. Sandwich in her mouth, one hand holding a can of unbranded soda, and the other rummaging her backpack for something else. Took a little over 15 minutes
* Remote: might be a bit of a stretch. This is Orion, the leader of a tribe of a custom species "Orycals" in the fantasy world I'm creating. They live in a remote cave that's isolated for everything else in the world. They're meant to be physical manifestations of mana (modeled after quadrupedal mammals and owls). They are objective outsiders that observe the events of the world without interfering. Orionhas a signature pitch-black fur & feathers that's even darker than the lightless cavern, the only sources of light being his eyes and runestones. Despite being pitch black, there's still an irridescent sheen to him against the dim light emitted. If I ever do a full drawing of an orycal I might post the full lore on my main account. Took about 10-15 minutes
