In 1933, Babyface Nelson and five other crooks robbed this bank and sprayed the surrounding buildings with gunfire. Not long before Nelson entered the bank, my grandfather walked past him on his way to work. Gramps recalled, "I thought nothing of it; I never realized he was holding a submachine gun under his overcoat."
