MLP: When you become Royalty so do your Parents
An idea I had a few years ago regarding Princesses usually come from Queens and Kings. So if your child became royalty, Would you as well? Also it is strange that the highest in status in F.i.M.'s Equestria are mainly princesses. It feels like that makes Queens and Kings in Ponydom godlike.

Yup, naming system in MLP:FIM is messy.
At first Queen and King titles seemed to be reserved for evil beings (Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra) but then we got reformed characters (King Thorax) or just good (Queen Novo).
We've got Crystal Empire which had Prince (Shining Armor), Princesses (Cadance, Amore), King (Sombra), but never Empress or Emperor.
Also Empire implies something independent/above Equestria, not its mere extension/province/city.
Kingdom of Equestria, but only with Princesses? -> That'd rather be Duchy/Duchessdom or Princessdom.
