i'd forgotten about that magazine . i think a couple issues and are somewhere on a shelf or in a box.
As for this picture it was an experiment in composition using 'spotted' solid black areas and dark cross-hatching ... going for an Op-art/Pop-art vibe vibe.
And feeling a bit Pythonesque ... there was a lot of rather surreal humour around at the time .
