Aight... King Matthias's behavior here seems a bit strange, but I figured that I had to made him do this. Lemme explain...

SARS-CoV-2's D614G mutants (which Matthias is) now guard the cells they've infected. But, there was a problem. I got rid of caves in order to make the surroundings look more like the human body as it is in real life, so there are actually no places where King Matthias could hide the cell. The cell would also eventually start to smell infected and thus alarming nearby immune cells anyway. But then I realized that the virus's glycans have a scent masking effect on the virus itself, and thus I decided to apply it to infected cells too.

Immune cells pick up the scent of infected cells and they should start to recognize the cell as such. But the virus's glycans cause them to see infected cells as healthy cells instead and thus wouldn't bother destroying them. King Matthias understands this, but he just likes to refer to it as 'total invisibility' because he thinks it's cool.

The real SARS-CoV-2 is said to be a stealthy virus, so these things are all meant to portray that in this comic.

Virus Attack is a science-based fantasy webcomic about COVID-19 and how the human immune system fights this disease. However, keep in mind that I'm only a virus enthusiast and that I never went to a school to learn all that I know. I mainly learned everything from either books or scientific websites. I also have ASD-related learning difficulties and thus I might've interpret and/or read things wrong. Some of the lore that I use for the creatures in this comic are made up and more based on the animal models that I use for them as well.
