# Stripe - Gremlins

It's Gremlins - it had to be Gremlins! Munchies, Ghoulies, Hobgoblins, Critters, etc. What did they all have in common? They all desperately wanted to be Gremlins. It created the very genre of tiny monsters running amok! My mind may correlate Puppet Master as the quintessential film series of said genre, but there's no denying that it and so many others owe itself to what Gremlins created! Yes. I know there were movies like Trilogy of Terror that predated Gremlins and also featured a tiny monster, but no one was out here trying to copy the Zuni Fetish Doll! Everyone wanted to be Gremlins. It was a legitimate phenomenon and while many tried to be a leech on it's belly, very few are remembered to this day like Gremlins.

Of course, now the argument can be made if they even fit. After all, is Gremlins even a horror movie? Maybe it's a Christmas movie - who knows? It may be fudging the rules a bit, but it's my rules to fudge as I see fit. To me, it's about little monsters, so it still fits especially for the category of Tiny Terrors. We can discuss the whole Christmas theming of the first film another day. For now, they're here for Halloween and I say they fit right in and I couldn't do this sub-category without them winning it. It's literally made for them! It would be like doing a Top 5 for Slashers and not including Michael Myers... Which is a fairly obvious spoiler way of spring boarding into the next category -- Sadistic Slashers~
