I decided I wanted to try giving dialogue for this piece. I originally wanted to use speech bubbles but thought there would be too many for it to look nice so a text box on the side will do. As you can see from the other character’s dialogue he is Butter’s dad! I wanted to give Butter someone who scolds him about his unhealthy lifestyle and originally came up with just a doctor. I liked him a lot though, and if I wanted to use him for future pieces I felt he needed to have a reason to be elsewhere. He certainly wouldn’t hang out with Butter or go out of his way to see him as a doctor, and I couldn’t make them also friends because why would he ever be friends with Butter. But then I thought what if he was Butter’s dad that would explain why he is so unprofessional about scolding his weight, and I could actually use him in the future if I want outside of hospital settings. I hope I didn’t make him come off as too aggravated at his son. It’s meant to come off like he has been saying these kind of stuff for years that instead of being more direct and angry about it he’s just annoyed at this point. He really does love his son and Butter does love him back but his dad just doesn’t like how unhealthy he is.
To sum up the new character, his name is Phil he is a Japanese silk moth who is a doctor and the father of Butter. While he of course loves his son, being a doctor means he cares a lot about his health and is annoyed Butter doesn’t. He chooses to take it out on him by casually insulting him whenever he gets the chance.
Also I feel like I should mention since Butter is my sona and supposed to represent me does that mean that Phil is supposed to be like my irl Dad. No he is not at all based on my real father or mother, I don’t want anyone thinking that I made him to vent about experiences or trauma I’ve had with my parents.
That was a long description, I just want to finish it with giving the text that’s in the image, in case I messed up and it’s barely legible.
Butter: So uhm how did I do this year?
Dad: Let’s see Butter… your heart rate is still through the roof. I feel bad for your poor heart, and you officially weigh more than a baby elephant now.
Butter: Gosh am I really that bi-
Dad: Yes, you really are that fat.
How you haven’t managed to get any long term health complications or how you can even still fly is beyond me.
Butter: I uhh actually can’t fly anymore.
Dad: Your wings finally had enough. Well that explains why you were 30 minutes late. At least you had to walk to get here and burn more calories.
Butter: I uhm actually got a ride to get here…
Dad: Of course you did.
