He seems like a hard man (no, not just in that way), and that is reflected in his eyes. He's not cruel, and he does have compassion and such, but he's had a difficult life and he's got his emotional walls up to protect himself.
It'd be funny if he ends up falling for either Amon or his protege (or both) and buying and/or sneaking them to freedom, so long as they're willing to come with him.

I greatly look forward to seeing it. Will you be releasing hardcover and softcover editions?
If I could, I'd really love to get a hardcover copy if you do plan on releasing them. ^^
As a side note... yes, he is very pretty. I love jackals, and how you get the character expressions with their ears and faces is always perfect!

Actually, I'll be using a lot of creative editing to ensure all lines and points of importance are still in the comic. I'm well aware for some people. this will be the only version of the comic they ever read (underage readers, for instance).
I'm also fully aware that once the printed comic comes out, it will be rampantly pirated. We need to withhold the adult scenes, because the fact of the matter is, some folks out there *will* buy it, *will* choose to support the comic, and we'd like to reward them with *something* they won't find online. I hope y'all will understand :)
And we'll work on making sure the comic is very affordable. I hate overpriced books.

Fair enough. Those pages should make it ENTIRELY worth it, in spite of the waiting period involved between now and being able to get the hardcopy version. If you're aiming for a January 2012 release, that means the whole story will be the same length as the lead up, given the "page a week" release time?
Two things. The arrangement of the panels in the top right to left are very confusing, and I had a lot of trouble following the conversation. A couple arrows here would do the trick. Long table is long, but eh. I'm not about to bitch. The other thing, in the last panel... is that supposed to be a smile? It looked more menacing and angry to me than satisfied or happy.

I was concerned about the top panels, but I showed it to a bunch of folks and I didn't have any issues. Alas, right now it is what it is. . . hopefully any readers like you who have issues can make sense of it without TOO much trouble, but I'll see what my editors think.
Luther's sort of a fierce dude, but I was more going for a 'roguish smirk'. A little menacing, perhaps, but angry? Hopefully not!

In a way I really pity Luther. Having to scurry around hiding his true feelings and loves. Never having someone to call his own.
He and Amon are like ships that pass in the Night - Briefly Docked <Winks> - and then sail on their seperate ways.
Let's hope that the author will be kind and let Luther find his place in a relationship.

I was so impressed with the start of the story I had to walk away for a bit and let the plot mature. I can't get involved with a story served up in little bites, I gotta gobble!
THIS IS GORGEOUS! Beautiful artwork, I really love the expressions; great characterization, intriguing plot. I also like how the story focuses on the grittier aspects of society, how bad things could get in the days of Wooden Ships and Iron Men, focusing on the sweat and tar-stained reality rather than the romanticized tales of gallantry and bravery.
This has my Seal of Approval and Walrus of Admiration.

Your comics are pure radiance, from scenes to characters, who they are and story, its hard not to get addicted^^ I read one of your others and it was the hottest and most beautiful work iv seen in a long time, I hope you do more, and as for the adult things is that print only or a digital version to buy? im curious cuz im using my tv to look at the pages and really enjoy seeing them really big as apose to paper size, its easyer to see just how much went into it and it cant bend or tare this way so if you have the time if you wouldn't mind letting me know id greatly appreciate it^^
