Uhm... this is going to sound dumb, but i missed the Traum links to the webcomic ... Just read the first chapter (blown away by every page!) and understood who all these characters you've been posting !

i look forward to discovering new art each "Inktober" even from artists i've been following for years - but so many pages of brilliant art and characters coming to life ...and that's the first chapter so far - i'm in awe. With the beautiful art you brought me into Helmi, Hams, and Wedge's world .

aw gosh, thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it so far! the first story (I intend to make more with these characters and this world!) is four chapters long and the last chapter started last week. it updates daily until the chapter is complete. don't worry about hopping in late, I only just started making this comic back in May, haha.

...well technically I started scheduling pages in May, I started working on chapter 1 in April. I release the comic chapter by chapter, and the site I host it on has handy features like automatic update schedules which takes some weight off me, hehe.

i was trying to come up with a title for this just before posting and i tried "Fight Or Flight" ... but that's a false dilemma ... so i tried an ironic title based on that "Fight Or Flight Or Calm-the-fuck-down". But then i saw it could be someone singing or shouting a warning or ... ????

so i gave up.

what has had me a bit perplexed about this old sketch over the years is that there is no rough sketch visible and i don't see any erased lines ...

... except two stray lines on the lower teeth that i digitally removed just now ...

i think i lost the skill of drawing without a rough sketch at some point. or maybe it's refining degrees of realism/cartoon....

somebody might give me a pale blue envelope again some day and i'll do a pencil doodle on the back of it ... better or worse ...

i've resolved to be stoic about it. It's nothing worth trying to control when sketching then refining serves my current projects.

Yes, I can feel the retro psychedelic influences, like, King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King. Must have gotten into some Good Stuff.

i'd had the '60s and early '70's psychedelia and underground comix. And prog rock, disco, punk rouch, new wave, ska revival, etc etc .

i absolutely love how this feels like its from its time , its wild to see how your own personal growth has stemmed from many other mini experiments and trials and compare it to how you go about your work now. this has such neat style to it , and despite it being a couple decades old, you can still tell it was /your/ style and i love that about art so much.

At the time i was doing some pictures in pencil as a finished medium - not a rough that would be finished in ink or paint.

As far as human/abstact/op-art/fractals etc - those are at my dA gallery - andi have shared a bit here on FA . But non-furry art has low interest here - i can usually get away non-furry pics during Inktober.

... You're one of my long time absolute favorite artists on FA and that i wish i could have some fraction of the creative invention, emotion and style that is present in your art. .
