Hay Bales at Ban Ban Springs
The wheat belt was in full harvest when we visited last month! Our local hay bales are all square or rectangular, so it was lovely to see the round ones around Ban Ban. The sky was blue and small grain birds were amongst the fields, feasting before the harvest. The ground was so vivid and teeming with life after the recent rains. This scene was a struggle to recreate in gouache, the sheen of the bales were very bright, which a matt medium does not lend itself well to!
