Another TF I had a lot of fun with (surprise surprise). I saw this concept in Darkest Dungeon, and became a huge fan ever since. Now I get to finally bring that concept to life in one of my TFs!
You were out adventuring with your party, venturing through the Dragon's Lair, fending off their guards with sword and spell, working as a team to clear room after room. You were unstoppable, nothing could get in your way. Until a misplaced step spelled disaster, the tile you'd just stood on pressing down as smoke suddenly billowed out from a hidden vent, blanketing you and obscuring your vision. You tried to hold your breath, but it was too late, you'd already inhaled some of it.
Sickly sweet and cloying, you felt it seep into your skin as you coughed, trying to fan it away. But as the smoke slowly dissipated, you were left in stunned silence at what you saw.
What was wrong with your body? It was all fleshy and naked and… wrong! That trap must've transformed you into a human! You quickly conjured up a restoration spell, channelling it into your body, as thankfully you felt it start to take effect, relief flooding your mind as you watched all that nasty soft, weak skin give way to familiar looking emerald scales, the fingers on your hands fusing back into four, as your claws returned.
You shed the weird human fabrics from your frame, discarding them to watch as your figure lost all that bulk and fat, becoming small and lithe, as it should be, your underbelly smooth to the touch as you traced your claws across it. Oh how you'd missed the sensation of the air on your scales. You witnessed the changes on your legs slowly revert back to their original scaly appearance, before watching as your feet lost those unnecessary fleshy and useless toes, replacing them with proper sharp talons that gripped the ground.
You let out a sigh of relief as your tail grew back in, and balance was restored to your body. Just how did those humans manage to live their life without one of these, you'd never understand.
Finally, you reached up, channelling your magic into your head, feeling that mess of fur atop it retract into your perfect mane, your crown of horns sprouting back into existence as your snout grew back in, rounded, full of sharp fangs that could tear through meat like no other. Your ears, losing that awkward round shape, becoming proper points. And your eyes, sharpening, turning an elegant gold as your proper sight was restored.
You couldn't help but let out a Yip of joy as you turned back around to face your party, only to see a group of… Humans! No, wait, you recognized them. That was your party!
They looked so confused and concerned. Wait, they must've been caught in the trap too! They must be feeling awkward in those improper, lesser bodies like you had! Don't worry friends! I'll get you back to your kobold selves soon enough! In their stunned disbelief, they didn't even have time to react as the spell washed over them, undoing the dreadful human curse thrown apon them.
Their panicked expressions quickly turned to relief and joy as their bodies shrunk down, pale flesh returned back to vibrant and colourful scales, and those unsightly human features became majestic kobold ones. They seemed a bit disorientated after being turned back, but you'd done it!
Best to go to Master to inform him, and get new attire and weapons. He'll be so proud of you… you cheerfully led your squad through the halls, already fantasising the celebrations your fellow kobolds would throw apon learning you'd saved a few more from the terrible, horrible fate of being stuck as a human! Oh, you couldn't imagine ever being stuck as one of those. You were proud to be a kobold, and that was all you would ever be, now, and forevermore~.
