So…heres something I threw together and worked nicely!
You will need:
5 Tbsp Garlic Powder
2 Tsp Onion Powder
1 Tsp Chili Powder
Oregano to taste (I use a lot)
Salt to taste
2 Tbsp Ground Black Pepper
1 Tsp Paprika
1 Pinch Cinnamon
1 lb. Ground Turkey (preferably 80% or higher fat content)
1 Package Bacon
3 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 Package Frozen Chopped Spinach
1 Package Sliced Mozzarella
1 Package of Pasta (I used Penne)
1 Jar Spicy Vodka Sauce (go to Walmart and use the Pasta Queen’s brand. No sugar or preservatives).
1. In a large skillet, place your slices of bacon in and start cooking over a medium heat until the bacon is crisp. Once complete, remove the bacon from the pan and lay on a plate with a paper towel to absorb the fat.
2. In a bowl, mix all your dry ingredients together. Crumble the turkey into the same skillet you cooked the bacon in, and evenly coat the turkey with the dry ingredients. Begin cooking the turkey over a medium high heat until fully cooked.
3. Pour the bag of frozen spinach into the turkey and begin incorporating the 3 tbsp of unsalted butter. Once in, sauté the spinach with your ingredients.
4. Once your turkey and spinach have been cooked sufficiently, pour the jar of Spicy Vodka sauce into the pan and mix with the ingredients. When your pasta is almost finished (be sure to salt your pasta water, people!) add 2 ladles of pasta water into your jar. Shake vigorously and pour into the pan.
5. Once your pasta has finished cooking, pour the pasta and the turkey mixture together into a casserole dish. Mix together until as uniform as possible. Put the slices of Mozzarella on top of the pasta in even patterns. For mine I topped the cheese with olive oil, lightly peppered and a little more Oregano for flavor.
6. Place the casserole dish in the oven at 375°F for 30 min. This guarantees your meat is well cooked and the pasta is delicious. Once out, it is ready to serve and enjoy.
Hope you enjoy making and eating this as much as Ive enjoyed presenting it to you. :3
