The crisp breeze settled calmly in the air among the lush forest, a wilderness untouched by any civilization, the vast expanse of life flourishing within the motherly embrace of mountains lining the sides of the valley. The beauty enamored her, taking in a soft gasp as she stepped out onto a precipice of land, the trees comforting her now at her sides, revealing the true grandeur. In every direction, the world grew with life, the leaves rustling softly on the tops of the wooden giants, snowy peaks climbing higher into a cloudless sky. There, shimmering before her eyes like jewels, lay the endless flickering of thousands of stars. They nestled into the crevices on the horizon, glowing softly, mimicking the peacefulness that relished itself in this place. Strokes of that from a paintbrush brushed softly among the distant suns, swirls of magenta and splotches of cobalt, normally invisible in heavily industrialized areas, now fully visible to them on this perfect and special night.
The brush of wind against her cheek made her blink, glancing down at her paws in the grass, flexing them softly across the tender blades beneath them. Her tail swayed softly, barely aware of it as she’d been so enamored before, now looking behind her at it and the protection of the forest behind her. She suddenly took in a soft breath, gaze quickly shifting to her underside as muddled movement from inside her caught her attention. There, the softest hue of viridescent green lit up her womb, pressing out modestly from between her hinds, just above her thighs. She smiled, thinking of the life teeming within, wondering what they would look like. It was hard to imagine this was even real, she never really considered the idea that being… well, intimate with someone, would result in her becoming a parent. But, she was very thankful it was with him, and he was the perfect father to raise them alongside her.
At the thought of her mate, his soft jostling in the clearing nearby encouraged her to return to him, wandering back without a hurry, the soft smell of wood greeting her nose as she did. When she arrived at the sound of the cute bug, between his teeth lay a soft patch of moss, circling the little alcove in the ground they'd found, filled with lush grass, leaves, and anything else he could find. Her tail wiggled at the sight, the two of them meeting each other’s eyes for a moment, the male blinking back before dipping his head down and shifting the moss among the rest of his foraged nest materials before standing up and walking around to approach her. She glanced back at him, watching calmly, his snout bumping against her little mound on her underbelly with a little prod. She giggled a bit, knowing he’d put that in her, the xeno-drake smooching her on the cheek before guiding her softly into their makeshift bed for the night.
Their paws shifted among the moss and leaves as they settled down, the bigger drake rolling softly onto his side, landing with a little thump, causing some of his gathered things to scutter about behind him. He didn’t seem to mind, taking the moment to admire his form, alight with glittering green stars of his own, her own little galaxy that she wished to explore. And the greatest thing is she didn’t have to ever leave her home to enjoy this sight, he was hers and she was his, for as long as the sky remained teeming with life and their hearts beat as one. She could feel a soft blush coming on, her markings letting off a pink glow, making her tail twitch nervously a bit.
But after another breath, she pressed up against him, rubbing softly and sliding up under his chest until his forelegs rested over her own, his hind paws holding her hips softly, green belly on full display. She could feel his warmth, hear his breath, the soft brush against her ear as he spoke to her, reminding her of her beauty. They shared many snuggles, kisses and kind words, the night singing timidly amongst them as fireflies, reflecting Xeno’s markings, flickered softly around the forest as if welcoming their tender embrace. She could feel her hopes and dreams inside each one of them, like floating dreams of what could be. She held onto those thoughts, promising to cherish every moment that came by, moments as important as this one to her. She could feel a tear in the corner of her eye, something of joy, making her nuzzle back into his neck once more.
And as she fell off to sleep in his arms, protected by the one she loved, she curled her tail around his, the soft squeeze of a couple never letting go, and closed her eyes to dream blissfully within the safety of her best friend in the world.
