Good news: After a week of slithering, I've finally become an animal with arms and legs! An anole, to be exact. Not ideal, but at least I'm now able to climb and grab things. I've also managed to text  bluemoonkin to come and help fix the collar. So I climbed up a house plant hoping it'll give me some high ground to get his attention. He seems to be unaware of my presence right now, but he'll notice me eventually... right?
