character debut! this one's been in my back pocket for a while, i wanted to draw something that really showed off the setting he takes place in before i revealed him. he's a racer! a dragon in a sci-fi world where brands control everything and racing is the most popular sport, viewed globally by billions. this sport is however very dangerous, due to the breakneck speeds racers are pushed to if they want to compete. wing/back mounted thrusters send contestants hurtling through mind bending tracks at speeds that are without a doubt, LETHAL...
of course tech is made to keep these racers safe, but there's only so much you can do when hitting a wall at 400km/hour
but yeah! he's here, and he's ready to impress... of course, getting on the front page of ICARUS magazine isn't something he did by just placing in the top 3... for that kind of fame he had to make certain.. connections >.>
the whole concept is heavily inspired by wipeout/redout/mirror's edge

Holy SHIT, this is awesome! Way to blindside me with amazing. And what a cutie! I'm sure he'll have a long successful career. This has 100% made my day. I absolutely approve of these last names too :D. On a nerdier side, the typography on this is SLEEK. I used to take it for granted until I had to start doing it myself, and man alive are my attempts thus far bad. Also man, wipe out was so cool. Used to have Pure for the PSP, one of the few things worth playing on there.
On a side tangent, I gotta ask something that's been bugging me for a while: what the heck do I call you here? Like I wanted to say "this is so awesome, thanks x!" but I wasn't sure what to put there. "Dragonsponies" or "dragons" always feels awkward.

hahah, glad you like it, the text is certainly inspired by some of our characters~
typography isn't my best thing, but i used magazines from F1 racing and EDGE magazine as reference so that helped a lot.
as for a name, i still want to change my artist name hahah, but haven't figured out what to change it to. but for now, you can call me Cyan!
