I finally got around to correcting something that has bothered me for weeks.
It seems that when I decided to record Dipper singing Rain by the Beatles, I managed to pick a backing track that was slightly flat.
Yes, the backing track was flat, Dipper was not singing sharp. I say this, because Dipper was pitch corrected, which corrects the pitch to as close to standard frequency as possible.
When I listened to it, again and again, ALL the singing parts sounded sharp. But not a full half step sharp. Less than half that.
So, what I had to do was go back in and carefully raise the pitch of the backing track.
NOTE: NEVER PITCH CORRECT A BACKING TRACK! IT WON'T DO WHAT YOU THINK IT WILL!!
No, what I did was change the pitch, not pitch correct. I tried different percentages until I had what I thought was as close as I was going to get.
If you listen to the sound file provided, you will hear three different sections of the song. With each section, you will first hear the old recording, then the corrected recording.
If you can't hear the difference, never mind. If you can, you'll understand why I had to do it.
