LOL this pic still makes me laugh. "Oh, so you ARE sick!"
Sad to say it, as I am fond of David Lynch, but I've only seen this film once. It just left me feeling really... off. Perhaps I shouldn't have watched it at night with the lights out.
Funny you should describe it that way, because that's how I described it to other people as well.

AAARGH. The moment the baby got sick just asdsfsfdg.
Hahaha... I. I really need to watch more of his works. 8C Shame on me. But... yeah! It's bizarre how the subconscious dictates how you feel... And yet, while watching this movie, the ambient soundscape combined with visuals that are, indeed, off ... it builds the world.

I did the big mistake of eating vanilla ie cream with chocolate syrup during the scene where he cuts open his weird baby. I wasn't so hungry for the ice cream afterwards. The entire movie is like a long dream. That woman with the incredible weird cheeks that lived in his radiator freaked my friend out pretty much.
It's been a while since I saw the movie last time. Somehow there's something holding me back from watching it again. I think it's the last parts of my sanity.

Eraserhead is probably the only movie that has scared me. It took me three days to watch it, I took a lot of breaks.
Gore doesn't typically make me queasy, but at the end, I got all sweaty, dizzy, and nauseous. I thought I was going to pass out, I had to lay down for about ten minutes.
Through all that torment, I've gained so much respect for the film and Lynch, managing to tweak my psyche in ways no other horror film has. The surreality and completely unexpected nature of things was like-- as many say-- watching a dream.
