Oh wow! Those look awesome.

I just pulled out my great-grandma's old Atari 2600 and played some great (and not-so-great) games from almost 40 years ago. It's super crazy, but some of those games were really fun!

Gives me hope that my 2600 still runs. Haven't pulled it out in nearly fifteen years. Still probably runs, unlike the PS1 with its 2000 era caps. I know those need servicing.

Ouch. I wish you the best of luck! I should probably reopen the PlayStation I got to see if there are any blown caps or any damage. I just replaced the disc drive on that one and game loading is still kinda spotty/slow.

When I discovered the console had become a victim to that era of caps, I went to e-bay and found someone listing replacement parts. They needed to know if it was 'this' or 'that' serial number for the right parts and I just left the repair on the back burner. I do have experience with soldering and the PlayStation doesn't look that difficult to disassemble. I also know the original X-Box has the same issue and... I haven't seen that quite some time.

Pretty sure my boxes look very much like that. Serviceable. But nowhere near showcase quality. AKA: True survivors.
