During an intense battle with the Autobots; Sideshock attempted to retrieve a device with high energon readings. During the skirmish, the device was destroyed, and him along with it. Unbenonced to anyone, his spark survived. His remains were eventually repurposed by humans in an attempt to understand cybertronian technology. An attempt that resulted in a new bot. Which, when activated his spark retook control.

Now with his new body, the Seeker is taller, and with a few adjustments, greater firepower than his original body had. Coupling it with his minicon's power boost. Sideshock is one of Starscream's deadliest allies.
