As I mentioned in my latest inktober sketch. The Orycal species is one I've been playing around with for a long time. They're roughly a 3ft tall species. Their exact features depend on the region they exist in. Whether the ambient mana is more attuned to a particular "element" will alter their form. These are the default forms if the mana from which they form is relatively balanced. Notable features being the large head-to-body ratio, the chest tuft, feathered-wings, crescent-moon shaped tail, and small horns (with floating runestones within. And large eyes that glow in the darkness like cat eyes. Their ears are also disproportionately large, similar to fennec ears.
This is the first drawing I ever made of one, and though design has changed slightly, I've stuck relatively close to the base formula (and added lore that the chiefs & princes of Orycals are capable of shapeshifting into an anthro form temporarily to blend-in with the outside world.
Even though technically Polaris (see the ref sheet I drew for him in my gallery) is a poke-fusion, I adopted him because I felt it was a perfect design for a polar/tundra/glacial variant whose mana was biased with more ice & water affinity than a pure balance.
