The wolf kept an arm around Artison, smirking as he held the blade to his face. Mira was shocked at how fast Artison was subdued, and she tried to get free to help. No use, this bull had an iron grip on her tail, and he grabbed a leg to keep her stuck. As they were held helpless to these two, a third member walked up, who looked to be a coyote, but had burn marks on his right ear that ran down the side of his neck.
This coyote looked at them both with a smirk growing into a crooked grin, "Well, we don't usually get visitors from up in the spires..." He walked up to them, "Might as well show you the same courtesy you show us every day. Reaping everything we work on and just leaving us down here...."
"W-we don't have anything." Whimpers escaped Artison, "Th-there's nothing to take, we spent it at the bar."
"Hah, Likely." The coyote said, "Even if it's true, I see a fancy leg there worth a couple of coin." he pointed toward Mira, "And she... she has some fancy thing letting her make portals. And I bet that fur of hers is worth a fortune."
"Don't kill us." Mira begged, "Please..."
"Well, just like you folk, we have standards." the coyote said, and he walked over, kneeling to Mira’s eyes as she hung upside down, "We're just gonna do onto do, as you do to us..." He pulled out a crowbar from off his belt, "Just gonna carve out of you what I want, leave you to rot, and forget you were even here.."
Mira started to whimper as well, and screaming could be heard... But it wasn't from Mira...
The wolf holding Artison looked to the sound but was too late. A flaming foot-paw dropkicked him right in the face, and the impact knocked both him and Artison to the ground. Artison snapped out of it as he hit the ground, and he looked up to see who was on top of his captor. Loretta knelt over the strange wolf, pounding his face into the concrete with her bare hands. When he stopped moving, she got up and looked toward the other two. Her hands and feet were immolated with scorching flames that climbed up her ankles and forearms. The heat was so intense, that a draft formed around her, and the hair she didn't braid down flew wildly around her as she snarled at these two thugs.
The thugs looked back at her with complete shock, "What's a Golden Guard doing down here?" the bull shouted, "Not even the National Guard comes down here!"
“She's here for us, numbskull!" the coyote shouted, "Cover our exit!" And the coyote went running.
The bull lifted Mira over his shoulder and then ran in the same direction.
"Mira!" Artison got up and ran just short of his sister as they ran after the two criminals. The chase through the alley seemed to reach its end as the other side could be seen. Then Lorette held one of her arms out with the other hand as a brace. At the click of a button, a large net shot forth and spread as it went over the criminals, and it clung between buildings and sparked lively with electricity for a moment. The two stopped in their tracks before the net blocked them. The electricity may seem to have faded, but the two looked at one another, they weren't gonna risk it. They turned back to their pursuers, without a doubt, a fight would be the only way to end this.
I know, fashionably late.
But hey, at least someone showed up in the nick of time. ^^
