It has been a long time! Life has kept me fairly busy and my muse has decided frolicking in the gorgeous weather is far more enthralling than allowing me to draw. But my spirit is being rejuvinated and so I suppose the time away has done me good. Thank you for those that left me messages that they missed my work, it has meant a lot!
I'm not sure explaining the piece itself would serve much of a purpose. So what I will say is how beautiful I find all of nature to be. There is such profound elegance and perfection in the simplest designs found on earth. I chose the Nautilus shell for this piece as the striping pattern on them reminded me strongly of the stripes on a tiger, not to mention how ancient the imagery of the spiral shell is. The idea was merely how nature repeats similar themes throughout its creations, big and small..thus connecting each . The rest of the elements in the piece go along the same theme of connecting the natural world. As for why I chose a tiger and not some other animal, well of course my heart's passion is for big cats and so...I surmise they will always be a primary subject in my personal work.
This piece is meant to be loose and not constricted by any rules! The original will appear in the Anthrocon 2007 Artshow in July.
Thank you in advance for looking and commenting :).

you are too awesome for words! I think my scanner actually gives a really big sepia tint to sketches, I usually desaturate it a lot after scanning, but try to leave a little tint since even paper and pencil together aren't totally grayscale. Thank you as always for your comments, they realleh brighten my inbox :D. Prepare to be annoyed at AC! D:
haha your welcome :) , I only speak the truth. Otherwise I don't compliment folks who don't deserve it! And you totally do deserve loving, hands down.
Intresting. It looks pretty =)
Yeah, about AC.. >.> , I can't make it cause I'm starting college in the fall. Surely dont wanna start off on the wrong foot with lack of funds ya know? It totally bums be out though cause I absolutely wanted to meet you and baggy (And Synnabar, and xianjaguar and and and...). I'll be saving up to ensure an appearence next year however. I need to get my noob ass to a convention and learn about the art buisness world! Yesyes :)

Again, you have found the perfect words to explain it. The rest should not be explained...you should just look at all the amazing things all around, the small details and the extremely fascinating wonders of nature, the hidden structures and similarities in the most different things and beings. I just love to think about things like that and see the world with curious eyes, pay attention to what a lot of people take for granted and do not pay attention to, "...cause it is so boring...".
I really like your way to see and express the special and wonderful treasures of nature and the astonishing mechanics, structures and things, like symmetry, the logarithmic spirals and proportions....simply everything.
This picture here really shows some nice examples for that and is totally wonderful itself in my opinion.
