The Striped Maulrat is a ferocious predatory rodent native to the forested areas of Navia. This deadly hunter prowls the undergrowth in search of prey. While it mostly sticks to more densely forested regions it has been observed to venture out into the open grasslands to hunt Grancavia and young Megacavia. This behavior, however, puts it in direct competition with its larger and more powerful relative: the Gnarl-rat.

Its name stems from the fact that it will brutally maul anything it sees as weaker than itself. Its vicious appearance typically makes any herbivore try to run away instantly, triggering the rat's pursuit reflex.
