Some art of Dom Duncan, based off a dream I had a few years back. Odd how most dreams are forgotten mere seconds after waking, but sometimes something just sticks so vividly in your mind that you can recall it even years later.

Ever since I started taking photos and using them to save me the time and effort of actually drawing backgrounds, I'd been meaning to get some shots of this building, and in the second week of October I finally got my chance. The little bit of research I did into what it is simply yielded the result that it's a "power station", and based on the memories of the place I have from 20 years ago (and what in turn inspired the scene from the dream I remember), it's mainly a substation with some generating capabilities, hence the smokestacks and the soon-to-be discussed details.
In 2002 or so, as part of a field trip, the 8th grade class walked from the school to the park near this power station, and while hanging out with my couple equally outcast friends that didn't care about playing sportsball or whatever it is that normies do, on a couple occasions roughly an hour apart the power station would fire up--there would be the sound of machines starting to run, and shortly thereafter the smokestacks would belch smoke for a few seconds before everything wound down.
As for the dream, which I remember describing to a couple friends as this was around the time of Dom Duncan's conception... What I recall from the dream was that it was in the late afternoon, the sky having that yellowish/orangish tint of a hazy evening. Dom and I were talking while walking (as this was from a first-person perspective, I'm not sure who "I" was in this context, if it was actually me, or Dominic Mephitto as has sometimes been the case, or some other unknown character).
While I don't recall what Dom and I were discussing, I recall that at some point the power plant activated, the sound and the exhaust smoke surprising him and interrupting what he was saying. While he's a dopey hayseed, he's aware of what a power plant is, and I wouldn't describe his reaction as one of fear or anything, but rather simple surprise. I recall the follow-up being me explaining that it's just a power plant, or something to that effect. That's where my memory ends, this random but vivid snippet.
I recall Dom's manner of speaking being a tad on the cliche "slow dopey cartoon redneck" side but nowhere near as exaggerated, and he was larger than I am IRL, I'd put his height at about 6'3 or so, not counting his ears, and definitely in the 350-400-pound range (being a donkey, he's got that "farm boy" build that's fat *and* muscle, untoned but strong). There was a definite warmth to him, both in a physical sense and an emotional one, and he smelled of hay or freshly cut grass with a hint of something else sweet, almost like baby powder or something (those familiar with this character may know why), not at all the sort of smells one would expect from a big dopey jackass.
Of course, a few details here are different from what I remember from my dream--the time of day is different, as is the angle of the the power station (to the best I can figure out, the angle I remember from my dream would not actually be feasible/possible as it would require us to be standing on the bridge nearby *but* for said bridge to be a bit closer to the power station, somehow), and I drew Dom in his current outfit rather than his 2020 outfit.
I really like how, without me intentionally doing so, his current outfit and aesthetic wound up pretty closely matching the power station! I had forgotten about the red details on the building, but apparently my subconscious didn't. Much like how I heavily associate that abandoned factory I always photograph during my usual walks with Nico Reynard and Nick Domnall (they both "spiritually" linger there, if that makes sense), this power station definitely reminds me of Dom Duncan even if I have only ever passed by it a handful of times in the 20+ years since that field trip.
