Here's something new, nothing too complicated, something to have fun with - at least I thought so. The reality was different.
I wanted to do another piece with Tigress and the cheetah; it was supposed to be an embrace, somewhat romantic, familiar and intimate. In fact, I had some trouble with the sketch, and I can't even tell how many times I changed the arms and hand positions until they fit more or less. OK, more less than more more, as there was something uncanny about the sketch right from the beginning, without ever knowing what was wrong, apart from the usual mistakes and imperfections.
Anyway, I threw colours on the paper and had it half finished when I went to a birthday party. As soon as I got back I took a brief look at the drawing. Suddenly I knew why it looked that strange - well, the drawing went right into the trash less than three seconds later. Everything was so obviously wrong with it, which couldn't be made unseen. So I sketched and colored the scene a second time.
Unfortunately, I don't know why Tigress looks strangely masculine after the coloring. I also don't know why both of them no longer look up at the butterflies after the color and highlights but instead look into the "camera" as if they had been caught doing something forbidden.
Anyways, here it is another encounter with the Kung Fu Panda Tigress.
