His name sounds like the kind of thing that gets misunderstood as Percival (or Percivald is the misunderstanding to begin with, Percival being correct) and it gives him no end of irritation for people to loudly announce or address him by the wrong name

The D from his name is mute, so he's pratically a Percival lol. The D was a last minute addition from his parents (his dad's name also ends with a D, it was some sort of homage), he hates it regardless. Just call him Percy instead 😂

i think the short and long of it is the idea that Percy is the kind of character who'd have constant woes with his name and the idiots around him struggling with it, is very funny to me, and this version of him makes me imagine it in the most hammy way possible, with Percy's signature annoyed face every time bards or knight's tournament announcers loudly say the wrong thing.
