I hope you're all well. I'm here to share some important news about myself, my work schedule, and some recent sensitive personal issues that have impacted my deadlines. I would like to thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding. I'll try to be brief and not ramble on about the following topics.
-> I'm aware of the delay in the delivery of some pieces and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. This delay is due to personal and technical events, which are listed below.
-> Over the past few months, I have been dealing with severe depression, under the supervision of a psychologist. During this process, I identified that my problems were long-standing (a depression that had already started 8 years ago, to be more precise), and I was referred to a psychiatrist and a neuropsychiatrist.
-> A sensitive personal event that also impacted my schedule was the discovery of some small tumors in my mother's body, located in the uterus, lungs, and brain. All of them are benign, but we are very shaken (especially her), especially after the recent loss of my aunt (her sister), who died of cancer. In addition, my mother is in fragile health, with conditions such as osteoporosis, asthma and depression. I'm closely monitoring her appointments and treatments, so I ask for your understanding and patience for the delay in deliveries, as I need to take care of her during this difficult time.
-> One of the reasons I temporarily closed the commissions was on medical advice, after some events with panic attacks. This was done to control my anxiety and focus on my recovery. I'm still working on all commissioned drawings and will finish all pending arts, don't worry about that.
-> I recently completed the consultations with the psychologist, after dealing with unresolved issues. Now, I can move forward without the need for controlled meds for depression.
-> After follow-up with the neuropsychiatrist, I was diagnosed with autism (level 1 support[not sure if that's how it is called in English, but it is like the first "level" of autism]), in addition to attention deficit disorder and high abilities. This diagnosis came after years of uncertainty, and was only possible with the help of two psychologist friends, who guided me through the process.
-> I'm still processing these discoveries, with mixed feelings of fear, anxiety and doubt, but also with relief for finally understanding this part of myself better. I'm learning about my difficulties and rights as an autistic person, and how I can improve my focus and productivity to offer a better and more professional work to you.
-> During treatment, I was testing different medications to help with autism and anxiety, which also affected my productivity. Now, with the right medication, I feel much better, more stable and energetic in general.
-> In more recent events, I had technical problems with my drawing tablet and my computer. After a long search for the cause, I found out that the problem was in my RAM. Yesterday I found a temporary solution to this problem and my PC started working again, and my graphics tablet is working normally. I'm also in the process of purchasing a new display tablet to improve the quality of future work, and to avoid having any more problems with my current drawing tablet.
I deeply appreciate the support, kindness, understanding and patience of all my dear friends and commissioners. I'm eternally grateful for that, and I promise to do my best in my drawings. I will never forget what you all are doing for me. I was afraid to open up about this subject for several reasons, as I said before, I still feel insecure and confused about finding out that I am autistic only after becoming an adult, whether or not this will affect my friendships, how people see me or if it will affect my professional credibility. A lot is new and it is a bit too much to handle sometimes. But I felt that it was the right and ideal time to share this with you all <3
Last but not least, the works that had already been finished and/or pending will be posted soon. In addition, I will open a new Halloween YCH in the next few days, I hope you like it ^^
