So, for context:
Cross Road, Get Chicken (CRGC) was a project I did for a university course back in 2019. It was an interactive fiction game involving a fox trying to cross the titular road to get to the titular chicken. I designed about seven pixel art portraits for it since there wasn't much in the way of graphics otherwise.

And now I am remaking it into a proper game, inspired by 90s visual novels, as shown here:

Part of the remaking process was of course redesigning everything, and so I thought it'd be interesting to show the original art in comparison to the instances of the remake's portraits.
First was a rough sketch to get a feel of the style.
Second was the final design.
Third was tracing of said design into pixel art.
