Here's a pair of V-bit tongs that can be also be heard called a pair of "duck-bill" tongs.
This pair of tongs is forged from a single piece of rebar that was 16 inches long and 3/4ths of an inch thick in cross section. I was able to forge the jaw on both ends of the piece of rebar and then cut the bar in half and draw out the reigns (handle parts).
"Drawing out" means to forge a thick mass of material into a thinner and longer length.
The jaws are sized for 5/16th bar-stock and it is a pair of V-bit tongs, so it can hold both round-bar and square-bar.
