Another Kirby inspired design. From my teen superhero space-opera. Her name isn't 'Vana' : she's a Vanir - but about ten inches tall with wings - she was the companion of Balder in one of my teen comix. Drawn around the same time as the previous 'Dream America' picture ( '90s - '08 ?).
- - So my first post of this old art with new tones picture was rather rushed to have at least one post per day during inktober - it was up for three hours, over forty views ans not a single like. Which was a clear signal that i had rushed to get the tones finished . So i went back and took my time and did this. i hope my little Vanir fairy shines a little bit brighter now.

When i posted the first version i was thinking about the inking : i was used to seeing this picture as black lines on white - no spotted black areas - it was all about the lines. So i posed her on a grey background.
When i went to create this version i changed mental gears : make it about the art, not the lines - what could i do with tones that would make this more interesting, using a few lighting fx, etc, but all in the service of making a cool art piece,
