Wilting Wilderness [Art by Lay]

~ At the end of Pokémon Gen 4 (D/P/Pt.), there's an island open for you to explore, and it is a complete jungle out there! You'll find Spearow, Pinsir, and some other classics from the first generation. The setting seemed really fitting for a ''jungle adventure'' theme to me, and while that sounds kind of weak, it is more interesting than you might think. Now with Halloween coming up, I decided to give one of the Pokémon species from that Gen 4 post-game area -- Vileplume -- a somewhat scary makeover. I reworked it into a rotten, half-living-half-dead flower monster, roaming around in the dark jungle and among the thick vines and untrimmed grass plains at night. I'd imagine it would become a Grass / Ghost type, which, while not the best type combination, is still a pretty cool one to me! I have done these ''Regional Variants'' many times before, but in this case specifically, it isn't really a ''variant''; it's more like a Halloween-themed makeover of an existing Pocket Monster. I tried adding depth perception by highlighting different spots in the picture, and I wanted to make the vines in the foreground to be one of those highlights.
I think it came out very much the way I wanted, except for maybe some more depth perception in the background. The art style is also a bit more plain than I'd hoped, but at least the featured Monster looks good.
