Amendelwyr rolled herself over, having wept for hours. Looking up, the night sky was beautiful. Her eyes glittered as she watched everything out there shine in their own special way. Clouds of color and blooms of brighter sky.
She sniffled and blinked away her tears. It surprised her when a glowing butterfly flittered toward her and landed on her chest. Two others flapped and wandered in the air around her while the first flexed its glowing wings.
"Why?" She whispered, wondering the reason that the little butterfly rested on her. It occurred to her that the butterfly didn't mind, it didn't consider little Amendel a threat. It was just a warm place to rest for a moment before it would be on its way in life.
Her parent's love didn't leave her though... Even if they were gone, they were still a part of her.
