My goodest of boys, my gentle golem derg, the weirdest creation I have made in a loooong time for reasons hard to explain. This is Ichor! I have wanted to get a more refined reference of him for so, so long, but I am easily distracted and Monica occupies way too much space in my mind. And man has he gone through several writing revisions over the past 2 years...
Ichor is a “liquid metal” golem in the shape of a dragon, and part of a much larger setting I have worked on for years. When he's not being a nice set piece in the gardens where he lives, he's Monica’s massive, difficult-to-miss shadow, or being tormented by her younger siblings with their constant thirst for adventure or lovingly convinced to help cure their boredom.
Outside of the story he's my only full dragon that I have art of, And has many forms; anthro form for him that has no art at all, a "hollow" form, and a small kobold form. I don't think I'll ever get all that art of him though, and I absolutely love this reference soooo yeah.
As for his personality, least for my own day to day thoughts, he's a bit of a derp in that he is immensely curious and tends to stick his nose in places where it really shouldn't be. He's been a large source of my own internal comedy, where he blunders about and gets into trouble that doesn't really affect him, but makes problems for everyone else. The curiosity of a cat with the habitual trouble a dog can get into. Plus imagining him just loafing in front of a passageway and blocking it off as a result is somehow just free serotonin for my brain. He's guarding the passageway like a good boy! The goodest of bois. ^ -^
This fantastic reference was drawn by
Khomche, and my God is it fantastic work. They do a lot of different creatures and their style is absolutely amazing, so please go check them out! I will be attacking them with hugs and many happy tears over this for weeks.
Oh and uh... yeah. First post in over a year. I have a very consistent upload schedule and I will hear nothing to the contrary!
