Soccer is also known as football, which the boos perhaps might have found themselves at a disadvantage given that they do lack legs and feet to kick the ball. So they're just deciding to change the rules and play a game which is rather more fun for them, tickling the bare of feet of their opponents. Of course when it comes to tickling Knuckles is always going to lose, though looks like Jet and Ray are just as ticklish. Boos for the win.
