I liked the time that chewfox or whatever her name was went on tyra and all things considered acted pretty reasonably on the show and then everyone freaked out and dragoneer banned her from FA then unbanned her and then banned her again because of a joke shirt about crashing FA she was wearing

As a collective, the furry fandom is retarded. This has been well established.

Of course we've gotten touchy. Punch someone in the arm enough times, and that spot is going to be tender. Even a light touch is going to bring pain.

In all honesty, though, the solution isn't to get up in arms about it, but to show decency in public and act with better restraint. Basically, to not do disruptive things purely for the sake of being disruptive. Don't howl in the mall food court and then complain when the security officer kicks you out, especially if you've already been asked repeatedly to stop howling. Don't dress in fursuits and then hump peoples' legs in public. You know, little things like that. Doing disruptive things purely for the sake of being disruptive isn't "celebrating your culture" or "being cute/funny/interesting/unique" or "taking pride in who you are", it's "being an asshole" and nothing more. When you can show respect towards others' feelings, then you can ask for respect to be shown towards yours.

And if they still try to give you crap about furs being perverts, remind them of how large the non-furry part of the porn industry is. At least we don't send out spam trying to sell pills to make your tail bigger. ^_~
