I changed to using Illustrator from Paint.NET a few months ago and it has been huge help in letting me improve my line art drawing. With Paint.NET I've always just used 3d models as bases and traced over them with the bezier curve tool. With Illustrator, I can actually use the pen tool to get more natural and varied looking lines that don't wobble and look horrible. The last three pictures were also done in Illustrator, but this was the first time I did everything by hand, without reference or bases, completely inside Illustrator apart from the shading on the bra.
Her hands are to the sides because she is jumping an out of frame jumping rope. (really because when I had the arms down to sides they looked weird and couldn't be bothered to change the line art.)
