An experimental piece for work. Had to try out Shiva casein paints. Casein paints are a milk-based, water-soluble paint used by designers and illustrators up until the late 60s, when gouache and acrylics became popular. They dry to an even, matte finish, which makes them really nice for scanning. However, because they're milk-based, THEY STINK. Seriously, they smell like the cabinet under the sink where we keep all the moldy sponges and cleaning supplies. Yuck!!
I wish I would have sketched out the "background" pieces first. =\ It really bugs me that the cat is mostly symmetrical but the background is off. I should never freehand, lol. I'm soooo not good at symmetry.
