Now here's another video game franchise that Toriyama was involved as a character designer as well: Chrono Trigger. Released in 1995 by Square (Before merging with Enix to become Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo, he along with the two designers, Hironobu Sakaguchi from Final Fantasy and Yuji Hori from Dragon Quest, became the Dream Team.
As the story involves in Crono, a young swordsman who goes to the Millenia Fair to see his neighborhood friend Lucca showcase her latest invention she and her father made. On his way, he meets Marle as they go and see the invention which it's a teleportation machine, Marle goes to try it, but her pendant causes a strange reaction and she's accidentally send it back to the past. As Crono travels to the past as well to rescue her, he'll soon discover an acient evil that threatens to destroy the World, leading him and his new friends both from the future and the past, to stop this evil force before's too late.
The game, not only makes anothe revolution in the RPG genre, but it's also known for featuring over 10 endings which you get depending your actions you did every playthrough you do, making one of the best RPG games on the Super Nintendo, later to appear in future consoles, including handhelds.
That being said, here we have Alva, the wolf of fire dressed as Crono, the protagonist of the series.
Dark Skyler: Heh, nice! Too bad you forgot the hair-do there, buddy.
Alva: I didn't forgot it, I just couldn't figure it out how to do it, especially with my ears standing in the way.
Dark Skyler: I see, anyways, how good are you in sword fighting?
Alva: Wanna find out? Maybe swords ain't my thing, but if I set it on fire, maybe it'll help!
